Dunvegan Castle

Dunvegan Castle is the island’s most historic building. Part of the building is thought to date from the 9th century and has been home to the Chiefs of Clan Macleod for 800 years, which makes it the oldest continuously lived in castle in Scotland. Inside you can see many fine paintings and clan treasures including the ‘Fairy flag’. You can enjoy a tour of the castle and grounds which include some delightful gardens. You can also take boat trips out to view seals in Loch Dunvegan as well as fishing trips.
