Getting around central London and further afield couldn’t be easier with a great urban transport system which includes the oldest Underground system in the world with the first trains running in 1863, and having the first electric trains to run anywhere in the world by 1890. Despite its age and a number of eccentricities its colour coded easy to use tube map (which has become world famous in itself) helps people navigate the complex system with ease and helps to transport approximately 3 million passengers each day making it the third busiest system in the world. It is also the second longest system in the world. In the past few years a revitalised bus system has combined with the underground and other over ground rail transit lines to improve public transport in the city. The Add to Itinerary button above will include a pre-loaded Oyster Card (discount travel pass) in your tour.
